Duties

Lead cross functional tax automation projects of medium to high complexity. Create project plans & teamwork assignments. Identify resource needs. Direct daily work efforts. Track key project milestones. Track & monitor project execution. Update project plans & status reports. Identify issues or risks associated w/ projects. Escalate & implement mitigation strategies for risk prevention & resolution. Negotiate deliverables from initial requirements to implementation across multiple business units/functional areas. Utilize an understanding of project related technical & functional requirements & implement those requirements. Configure & customize Sales & Distribution (SD) & Financial (FI) modules for Transaction Tax setup for R/3 & ECC. Train end users & business users on use & maintenance of application. Analyze impact of change requests, new enhancements & any other changes to the stability & security of existing setups & configurations. Apply knowledge of SAP as it relates to database architecture, schema, table & interfaces in connection w/ Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Order Management, & Purchasing in ERP. Perform custom ABAP development & enhancement based on client specifications, procedures, & functions. Utilize knowledge of Sabrix/Vertex/Taxware Tax engines, user exits, interfaces & underlying code in relation to their global indirect tax technology needs. Apply functional understanding of ERP, US Sales & Use Tax, Global Value Added Tax data, data flows, & external interfaces of SAP. Must be willing to travel to client sites as needed.

Requires
Master’s Degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Applications or a closely related degree & 3 years prior experience as a Computer Programmer or SAP Consultant. Experience which may have been obtained concurrently must include 3 years prior experience in the use of SAP ABAP Development in SAP ECC, & 3 years experience implementing indirect tax technology solutions using Sabrix/Vertex/Taxware.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver multiple tax automation projects on SAP ERP platform from requirements gathering and project kick off to post production support, by proactively driving various activities across the organization (e.g. Operational Readiness Checklist) and facilitating cross departmental discussions (e.g. Target Operating Model definition), to confirm operational stability and QoS delivery.
  • Ensure Program Management methods are established and executed across a highly matrixed. Global Program Team; methods include program planning and control, program governance, stakeholder management, change management, resourcing, budgeting, issue and risk management.
  • Coordinate activities and facilitate consensus amongst all stakeholders and approvers on all aspects of program deliverables, with particular emphasis on budget issues.
  • Ensure successful delivery of technology, infrastructure, and support to critical application deployment and financial objectives, through a decidedly international and matrixed landscape.
  • Execution of SAP Tax Automation Programs is on schedule, on budget, and delivering the capabilities and financials agreed to in the Business Case documentation.
  • Responsible for effective governance and communication with key stakeholders across multiple business companies, as needed.
  • Effectively manage SAP tax automation project managers and project leads to achieve high quality on time delivery of results within proposed budget.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or closely related field. (foreign equivalent accepted)
  • Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible work experience in any position(s) that provided the required skills sets and abilities.
  • Any suitable combination of education, training or experience is acceptable. The term suitable, in this context, means substantial compatibility with stated academic level and job experience requirements, and ability to perform job duties.
